The President, and all elected officials take a similar oath. They demonstrate their true colors as to to what useless piles of crap they are by their actions. God Bless each and every one of the OathKeepers and keep them safe.
The leader of the oath keepers is a FBI informant. He turned in his own members to the FBI to avoid jail time from the Jan 6th protest.

I took that oath in the fall of 1973.Even though I am an old worn out patriot I am still a patriot and that oath has not expired.I will defend it up to and including my death.I could sense that I was making an important oath that day.I got chill bumps repeating that oath and I still do all these years later as I recognize that it may be called upon.
Oath Keepers can be civilians also, Civilians can take the oath.
Sheriffs have the constitutional authority to ” DEPUTIZE ” civilians as a force multiplier.

I remember taking the oath when in school I pledge allegiance to the Flag of United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. I took the oath to Defend and Protect The Constitution of The USA, against all invaders when I joined the US Marine Corps. I still believe in both oaths. However the Bible says not to give an oath to any King, Prince or Potentate which applies well in any court
