Schiff, speaking to host Chris Hayes, warned that the administration’s aggressive stance against drug cartels like Tren de Aragua could escalate into attacks on American soil, stating, “The reality is we can’t rule that out. We can’t rule that out.” He speculated about lethal force being used without trial or due process, tying it to Trump’s references to an “enemy within” and past deployments of the military in U.S. cities.
This wild conjecture isn’t just Schiff’s latest bout of Trump Derangement Syndrome—it’s a continuation of a pattern of deceit and exaggeration that has defined his political career, earning him a well-deserved censure from the House and accusations of outright fraud.Schiff’s recent rant comes amid the Trump administration’s bold moves to designate violent gangs as narco-terrorists, equating groups like Antifa with foreign threats. Hayes highlighted Attorney General Pam Bondi’s comments on treating Antifa similarly to cartels, prompting Schiff to spiral into doomsday scenarios. “If you look at where this started, it started with blowing up ships,” Schiff said in the interview, before leaping to potential strikes on land targets in Venezuela and then, incredibly, to domestic opponents.

Former MLB star and California Senate candidate Steve Garvey hammered this point during a 2024 debate, accusing Schiff of lying to 300 million Americans about Russia collusion. The Russia hoax wasn’t just a political misstep—it was a deliberate campaign of misinformation. Declassified documents revealed that Schiff, along with other Democrats like Rep. Eric Swalwell, pushed the Steele Dossier despite knowing its flaws. A Democratic whistleblower even informed the FBI in 2017 that Schiff authorized leaks of classified information to discredit Trump during the Russiagate probe.
