I was a government employee for 3 years and I couldn’t understand why my fellow coworkers couldn’t stay up to date with their work and I had no problem holding myself accountable for what I did. I was considered a threat to other employees simply because I did my job to my best.
I worked for a Fortune 500 company. We had to account for our work every week. Many of these “gubment workers” haven’t done anything for years and many haven’t been into the office in years.
I heard of a state of Ct. employee whose boss retired DURING temp. shut down from home. She kept collecting a check yet did NOTHING while home. Finally, she made a lateral job move within & her ripping off the addressed. 2 years was never adressed.
If I got an email asking what I’ve been doing at work, it would take me like 2 minutes to easily write out what I do and how. All jobs should require it honestly.
