Democrats Say Trump CAVED On Tariffs After Bond Market Fears, They Are COPING

• Democrats on Tuesday: “The market is down. This is Trump’s fault!” Democrats on Wednesday: “The market is way up. This is Trump manipulation!” Democrats on Thursday: “The market is down. This is Trump’s fault!”
• The very people that have absolutely no plan to help America think they know what Trump is doing? Democrats don’t have to help, they just need to get out of the way. It’s time for the adults to do their job.
• I love how he’s simultaneously a lunatic that’s drunk on power that will stop at nothing to wipe us out and also a terrified loser that hits all the breaks at the slightest sign of pushback. Absolute cope.
• Didn’t Trump get what he wanted? Isn’t getting countries to re-negotiate their stance on tariffing US goods a primary goal. Why is it considered ‘caving’ in showing a willingness to make is easier for countries willing to work with him.
• Remember, everything he does is bad because of their severe case of TDS. He could implement some law that gives them everything they could ever want, and they would still criticize him in some way for doing it.
• My biggest concern is how we are going to survive all these financial and political crises, especially the power struggle in the US. The government has really made things difficult for its citizens, and we can not just sit by and suffer the consequences of bad governance
• When the income tax started, it was a ‘start point’ for a head of household of $3000. This was when $20 would buy what would be a few thousand dollars in groceries today, and people were (on average) making $750 a year. No tax for most people. If you took that pay in St. Gaudens double eagles, it would be well over $44k a year (tax free) just for the metal value. If you were to be a head of household… well, $3000 it would be $176k per year. The original debates wanted a 3% cap on the tax… but that was refused, on the grounds of ‘Well, if we put in a cap, it might someday get that high!”
• I wonder how much we spend on the IRS each year, compared to the amount of taxes they collect. Also, I wonder how much they spend on collection efforts on poor people as opposed to how much is brought in from said collections. The IRS is the bane of the free market at this point.
• Keeping the pressure on China shows the world he’s not fucking around. Pausing tariffs on everyone else says he’s ready to negotiate. The message is simple: if you want unfettered access to our markets, give us unfettered access to yours
• 90 days gives the administration time to negotiate with 75 countries. This first increase has brought countries to the bargaining table . This gives other countries’ industries time to adjust to the renegotiated new tariffs.
