Yes, this “both/and” approach is a logical, low-risk strategy. Take direct UA (Mitopure) for immediate benefits while providing ellagitannin-rich precursors (e.g., pomegranate extract or whole foods) to nourish and potentially increase populations of UA-producing bacteria like certain Gordonibacter species, Akkermansia muciniphila, and others.
- Pomegranate/ellagitannins act as a prebiotic substrate.
