O’Keefe Exposes: CIA Operatives Withheld Intel From President Trump on Chinese Threats

In a bombshell undercover investigation released in May 2024 by James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group, a high-level CIA contractor revealed shocking details about how U.S. intelligence agencies deliberately withheld critical information from then-President Donald Trump, including threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The exposé, featuring hidden camera footage of Amjad Fseisi—a project manager in Cyber Operations for the CIA with top-secret clearance—highlights a pattern of insubordination and potential treason within the intelligence community. Fseisi, who also worked as an NSA contractor for Deloitte, admitted that agencies “all got together and said, we’re not gonna tell Trump,” citing fears that Trump would disclose sensitive intel.

This withholding extended to information on Chinese threats, as Fseisi was involved in the CIA’s China Mission Center, a unit focused on countering Beijing’s aggressive actions. The revelations come amid growing concerns over China’s multifaceted threats to U.S. national security. According to the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment (ATA) by the U.S. Intelligence Community, China remains the most active and persistent adversary, engaging in espionage, cyber intrusions, military expansion, and economic coercion.
Beijing’s espionage efforts have stolen vast amounts of intellectual property, with up to 80% of U.S. economic espionage cases linked to PRC entities as of 2021. This theft enables China to bypass technological development costs, bolstering its military and economic dominance.Cyber threats from China are particularly alarming. The ATA warns that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has prepositioned malware in U.S. critical infrastructure through operations like Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon, potentially allowing Beijing to disrupt power grids, telecommunications, and military deployments during a conflict.

In a crisis over Taiwan or the South China Sea, China could launch aggressive cyber attacks to impede U.S. decision-making and induce societal panic. Recent incidents, such as compromises in U.S. telecommunications, underscore this vulnerability. FBI Director Christopher Wray has repeatedly emphasized that China’s cyber espionage poses the greatest long-term threat to U.S. innovation and security. Militarily, China is rapidly modernizing the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to challenge U.S. superiority in the Indo-Pacific. The ATA notes that the PLA is developing counter-intervention capabilities, including hypersonic missiles like the DF-27, which can target U.S. bases in Guam, Hawaii, and Alaska.
China’s third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, is set for operational service in 2025, enhancing its power projection. Beijing’s coercive tactics, such as gray-zone operations in the East and South China Seas, aim to assert territorial claims without triggering full-scale war. Allies like Japan have labeled China the “greatest security threat,” citing increased military incursions near Taiwan.
Economically, China’s state-directed policies flood global markets with subsidized exports, harming U.S. industries and creating dependencies. The ATA highlights Beijing’s dominance in critical supply chains, enabling coercion through export bans on rare earth minerals like gallium and germanium—retaliatory measures against U.S. tech controls.

This extends to biosecurity risks; China’s opacity during the COVID-19 outbreak, which originated in Wuhan, delayed global responses and cost over a million American lives. The Intelligence Community assesses a lab-related origin as more likely, yet Beijing’s censorship hinders full investigation.
Back to the O’Keefe exposé: Fseisi detailed how CIA leadership, including former Directors Gina Haspel and Mike Pompeo, kept information from Trump because they viewed him as a “Russian asset” who couldn’t be trusted.
“The executive staff… kept information from him because we knew he’d fucking disclose it,” Fseisi said. This included using FISA warrants to spy on Trump’s team, with surveillance continuing post-presidency: “We monitor everything… We also have people that monitor his ex-wife. He likes to use burner phones.”
Fseisi boasted about CIA hacking capabilities: “We steal it [information]… We hack other countries just like that.”
He noted inter-agency reluctance to share intel, calling the NSA “careless.”These admissions align with prior reports of intelligence community bias against Trump, including the Crossfire Hurricane probe, which found no Russia collusion but stemmed from illegal surveillance.

O’Keefe’s follow-up call to the CIA confirmed Fseisi’s termination, but the agency denied he represented them.
Lawmakers like Rep. Matt Gaetz called for investigations, citing potential violations of laws like 18 USC 1512 (obstruction) and 18 USC 1001 (false statements).
The implications are profound: If agencies withheld intel on Chinese threats—such as cyber prepositioning or military advancements—it could have compromised U.S. readiness. Trump’s administration did confront China, launching covert operations against Xi Jinping’s government in 2019, spreading negative narratives via bogus online identities.
Yet, internal sabotage may have undermined these efforts. As tensions escalate in 2025, with China eyeing Taiwan and expanding Arctic influence, the U.S. must address both external threats and internal divisions. Bipartisan bills aim to counter CCP espionage on U.S. soil, where repression of dissidents and theft of secrets are rampant.
