• Democrats who voted against Trump can’t celebrate the 4th of July, labor day, Memorial day, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
• As an actual Mexican who immigrated legally to America and voted for Trump, you are welcome to celebrate 5 de Mayo. It’s not even a Mexican holiday
• Me, Native, watching a bunch of white and black folks telling me what I can’t eat and drink because of voting for an orange man.
• I’m a conservative and I’ve NEVER celebrated a Mexican holiday designated to commemorate Mexico’s victory over the French in 1862. Chances are the Americans celebrating the 5th of May and complaining in these shorts don’t even know why they are celebrating the 5th of May other than “it’s a ‘Latinx’ thing”- just another excuse to get drunk and act foolish. P.S. Someone needs to tell Big Momma she don’t need no more tacos, either.
• As an American of Mexican descent, I was always annoyed that most Americans are convinced that May 5th aka Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day. It’s not. It represents the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and has instead become an Americanized excuse to get sh@tfaced. Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th. It’s like saying that Americans celebrate their Independence Day on December 25-26 when Washington crossed the Delaware in 1776. Everyone please do a little more research. Oh, and anyone can celebrate any freakin’ holiday in America, commercialized or not, if they damn well please.
• What about all the Mexicans who are here legally and voted for Trump? Are they not allowed to celebrate it either?
• It’s so funny these cowards think they have the right to tell folks what they can eat  There band from anything the American people have done for them!! WE WILL VOTE HOW WE WANT AND EAT HOW WE WANT !!
• Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day. Their Independence Day is September 16. Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration to celebrate Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
• So people I’ve already told that I don’t give a damn about their opinion when I voted are under the impression that I suddenly care enough about their opinion to do what they say? Nope. Still don’t give a damn about their opinion. Their actions over the past few months have done nothing to change that.
• The reason we celebrate 5 de Mayo here in the U.S. is because the U.S. supported Mexico during the cake  war against France. As a Mexican -American who voted for Trump I say Salud and Bottoms Up.
