What is the point of having a government? Look to the Declaration of Independence, which states very clearly why people, why we have government.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…
We create government to secure our unalienable Rights. Rights we all have because we exist! These are Rights we are born with, they are innate, unalienable Rights! We create government to make sure our Rights are enforced and protected. Government exists for this very reason — to safeguard our Rights! Government has no authority except that which we say it can use. Government can only use this authority as long as we say it can use it. Government is completely under the control of the citizens.
Really? The citizens are under the Biden administration control.
No citizens are. Government is under the control of citizens. Government can try to use power it doesn’t have. It only succeeds if the people let it. Which means government is still under the control of the citizens.
Are you being purposely disingenuous?
When the majority of people disapprove of vaccine mandates, unneeded, small business killing lockdowns, illegal aliens streaming across the southern border by the 100s of thousands, using the FBI to investigate fed-up parents voicing their opposition to the insanity going on in schools and skyrocketing energy costs because the government refuses to allow domestic production(which would end our reliance on OPEC) just to name a few, then it seems like, whether technically untrue or not, a small minority of unhinged crazy loons have taken over and usurped the purpose of government and now controlling the majority instead of the other way around.
Oh, yes, it absolutely does seem like that’s how it is. That is happening because citizens are allowing it to happen. People are obeying illegitimate authority. Some because they are unaware it’s illegitimate. Others because they want the authority to become legitimate.
All it takes is people saying no. Look at DeSantis in Florida — I can’t say enough about him. He is doing exactly what state government is supposed to do — put itself between the people and illegitimate federal government actions. The Federalist Papers talks about this exact action.
DeSantis, also, is protecting the people in his state from illegitimate actions within the state.
Another example is parents pushing back against school boards. This is what people have to do to keep elected officials in line. Unless restrained, all governments devolve to tyranny. The People are the ones who have to restrain government. Not just with elections — that’s not restraining anything.
All the people pushing back against their employer’s illegal vaccine mandates. This is what we have to do.
So much is necessary because we have allowed so much illegitimacy for so long. Also, so many illegal invaders have been allowed to live here and change the demographics. People coming from socialist countries who want to change our Country to socialist. Our elected officials — even republicans — encourage this!
