The Boss just answered questions from reporters — unscripted and without knowing them in advance — for ten minutes after he returned to Washington, D.C.
It’s nice to have a President who can do that again. pic.twitter.com/fEst96obCR

- No one with a serious mind or capability of discernment has any confusion between Trump and Biden who was mentally capable. The utter lies and deception of legacy media will not soon be forgotten.
- President Trump is the best ever at this. – Brick Suit
- President Trump (the boss) on February 2nd, 2025. President Trump began by announcing the successful release of six American hostages from Venezuela, attributing it to collaborative efforts and expressing gratitude to involved parties and Venezuela’s cooperation. He then addressed the Panama Canal, expressing strong concerns about Panama allegedly violating agreements and allowing China to exert control. He framed this as a national security issue and suggested taking action to regain control or implement significant countermeasures. Moving to international relations, Trump mentioned ongoing discussions with various parties concerning Israel, Ukraine, and Russia. He noted that talks were progressing and highlighted an upcoming visit from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for important meetings. In response to a reporter’s question, Trump voiced approval of Elon Musk’s performance, praising his cost-cutting measures and intelligence, while acknowledging potential disagreements in the future.
- Trump then discussed trade and tariffs, particularly focusing on Canada. He claimed Canada has been unfair to the US for many years in trade practices, citing restrictions on American banks, energy, and agricultural products, leading to a trade imbalance. He indicated potential retaliatory tariffs against Canada. He extended this sentiment to Mexico and mentioned the issue of people crossing the border and suggested this was related to trade. Regarding South Africa, Trump stated potential aid cuts were under consideration due to concerning actions by the South African leadership, specifically mentioning land confiscation and other issues currently under investigation. When asked about the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold interest rates, Trump stated he was not surprised and agreed with the decision to maintain the current rates. Expanding on tariffs, Trump suggested the European Union and potentially the UK could be targets for future tariffs, citing large trade deficits and unfair trade practices, particularly regarding automotive and agricultural imports.
- He mentioned a significant trade deficit with the EU and framed it as an “atrocity”. He acknowledged positive relations with UK Prime Minister Starmer but emphasized the need to balance trade. He indicated tariffs on the EU could be implemented soon without a specific timeline and despite potential short-term economic discomfort, arguing that the US has been economically exploited globally. Trump broadly discussed trade deficits with numerous countries, including China, the EU, Mexico, and Canada, questioning the rationale behind these deficits and pointing to cheaper pharmaceuticals and other products in other countries. He expressed a determination to change this situation to benefit the US. Finally, he mentioned removing individuals he described as “radical lunatics” from USAID. Returning to the topic of Mexico, he stated Mexico needed to balance trade, stop the flow of people into the US, and halt the influx of fentanyl, originating from China and crossing through Mexico and Canada, threatening increased tariffs if these issues were not addressed.
- It’s refreshing to see a president who can think on his feet and engage with the press without scripting every response. The American people deserve transparency and honesty from their leaders, not rehearsed answers. Let’s hope future presidents take note of Trump’s example and put the country’s interests above their own.
- I’ve always loved President Trump, but I need to say this…I am so impressed with him this second time around that I honestly don’t think there’s ever been a more effective and better President EVER… It’s breathtaking…. Schroonman
