And now, believe it or not, even Drudge Report has jumped on the bandwagon with an image of Trump supposedly giving a Nazi salute. Once upon a time, Drudge Report was the go-to news source for conservatives who wanted the real scoop. For two decades, it stood strong, calling out the Clinton scandals, exposing the media bias, and taking down the deep state—until it didn’t. In recent years, Drudge seems to have flipped, joining the rest of the “Trump-hating” media. And this recent pre-election smear is probably its lowest point yet. Who knew a site so respected by the right would one day sink to such levels?
With the election just around the corner, Democrats and their loyal propagandists are throwing everything at the wall, hoping something, anything, sticks. The latest? A gross misrepresentation of Trump’s words at the Israeli-American Council summit in D.C. Trump simply pointed out that if Jewish voters didn’t show up for him, it could affect the election outcome. Suddenly, the left turned it into “Trump blames Jews if he loses”—and Drudge ran with it, headlining an image suggesting Trump gave a “Heil Hitler” salute. Seriously, when did we enter clown world?
Let’s look at the actual quote: Trump told the audience, “So I’m not going to call this as a prediction, but in my opinion, the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss if I’m at 40 percent…I’m the one that’s protecting you. These [Democrats] are the people that are going to destroy you.” He was just telling the truth, and somehow that got twisted into the most ridiculous smear campaign yet.
Of course, Trump didn’t stop there—he even took a jab at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, calling him “a Palestinian” after Schumer suggested Israel needed a regime change. Only Trump could roast a Democrat and defend Israel in the same breath, and that’s why his base loves him. As the former president said, “These people are bad for Israel, very bad,” and they’re certainly no friends of freedom-loving Americans.
It’s wild to think that Drudge, a website that helped expose so much corruption and played a key role in Trump’s 2016 win, has now gone off the rails. Just like other “conservatives” who have joined the swamp creatures, Drudge seems to have lost its way. These days, you can hardly tell it apart from the mainstream left-wing media. Whether Matt Drudge is still calling the shots or not, the once-beloved site has clearly sold out.
As Ronald Reagan once quipped, “The problem with our liberal friends isn’t that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”
