Currently an investigation is underway following the discovery of six people that were shot to death in a remote desert area in El Mirage, California. Multiple bloodied victims were found scattered about the ground with evidence markers and bullet casings surrounding them. Some bodies showed signs of burning. A dark-colored SUV, riddled with bullet holes and shattered windows, was on the scene, while a light-colored van faced the opposite direction, with unclear damage. No information about the victims’ identities has been released.

• Six people were found dead in a remote area of the Mojave Desert in Southern California on Tuesday night.
• The discovery was made by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies in an area off Highway 395 near El Mirage during a wellness check around 8:15 p.m.
• Five bodies were found on Tuesday night, and the sixth body was discovered on Wednesday morning.
• The identities of the deceased and the causes of their deaths have not been immediately disclosed.
• Sheriff’s spokesperson Mara Rodriguez stated that investigators were still collecting evidence to determine what occurred.
• The scene was expected to remain active for several hours before removal of the bodies, with coroner’s investigators to be involved.
• Two vehicles were located at the crime scene, which was marked with yellow tape and markers near a dirt road intersection in a desert area.
• The location is approximately 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles and is so remote that assistance was needed from the California Highway Patrol’s Aviation Division.
• The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department’s specialized investigations division is conducting a homicide investigation.
