Trump Reveals Strategy To Bring Chipmaking Back To The US By Integrating Foreign Workers

REAKING: President Trump says foreign investments mean foreigners HAVE to come to America and train American workers “I love MAGA – THIS IS MAGA! Those people will teach OUR people how to make computer chips. And in a short period of time, our people will do great and those people can GO HOME!” “You can’t open a massive computer chip factory for billions of dollars, like in Arizona, and think you can hire people off an unemployment line to run it. They have to bring thousands of people and I will WELCOME those people.” “I may take a little heat from my people, the people that love me. They happen to be toward the right of center. Sometimes WAY right.” “If you have to bring people to get those plants open, we want you to do that – and we want you to teach OUR people how to make chips and other things.”

  • This is a brilliant deal Trump made in his last term that he is doing a poor job of explaining. China’s main reason for wanting to invade Taiwan is its chip factories, on which the western world is dependent. It’s so bad they have “kill switches” installed in them should China invade to destroy the tech. Trump brilliantly told Taiwan in his last term that he wouldn’t defend them against China unless they moved their most critical chip manufacturing here. The SWAMP freaked out, but it WORKED. The company opened a factory a few months ago in Arizona. The deal was always that the Taiwanese company, which possesses the chip tech, would run the factory from safely inside the US where China can’t get to it and gradually train US workers in chip tech knowledge we don’t have. In other words, the Taiwanese would train their American replacements, not the other way around, which is so often the case. This is great news. 90 percent of our chips aren’t made here and we have lost the knowledge, sadly. We actually do need this training. Having Taiwan do it is the quickest way. Nothing to be mad at here. – Tara S
  • Sorry if I missed it but I don’t remember India being the computer chip industrial mega of the world. Now if you said we need to have some H1-Bs with strict EOF requirements for people from Taiwan, that would make sense. – Theodore SMith
  • Between just 2 High Tech companies – Cisco and Intel they laid off nearly 50K employees Think a few of them could fill these roles? He is being fed BS – We are the #4 mfg of Chips in the world. Also why are nearly unlimited Chinese allowed into our colleges then? – GMS

  • Taiwan… specifically TSMC is the only company that can build these chips. We design them, they build them. Intel has been trying and failing for years with their foundries. We have no choice but to bring these skilled workers in – Schmidt
  • In the case of computer chip manufacturing plants, you do have to bring in Taiwanese experts to train Americans for a few years. But only for that specific case! If this is what he means, I’m for that. I’m not for expanding it to allow what we have now where American jobs are in danger. Chip manufacturing is extremely fickle. They sometimes build new plants that have to be abandoned because their functional chip yield is too low and they don’t know why. They will build factories modeled after one whose yields are high down to the paint color, composition of building materials, positioning of equipment down to the thousandths of an inch… it’s that picky of a manufacturing process. – Joel Stewart
