I took that oath in the fall of 1973.Even though I am an old worn out patriot I am still a patriot and that oath has not expired.I will defend it up to and including my death.I could sense that I was making an important oath that day.I got chill bumps repeating that oath and I still do all these years later as I recognize that it may be called upon.
Oath Keepers can be civilians also, Civilians can take the oath.
Sheriffs have the constitutional authority to ” DEPUTIZE ” civilians as a force multiplier.

I remember taking the oath when in school I pledge allegiance to the Flag of United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. I took the oath to Defend and Protect The Constitution of The USA, against all invaders when I joined the US Marine Corps. I still believe in both oaths. However the Bible says not to give an oath to any King, Prince or Potentate which applies well in any court
