- Approx 48% of total US spending (health) is paid for by govt programs. And it’s growing. About 18-21% of the population (1 in 5)on Medicaid/CHIP. 19% – Medicare. Uninsured – 8%. As of 2024 35.5% total. Govt is involved in 90% of insurance. JJ
- I mean, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why. When you subsidize something, you’re adding more money into a pool that shouldn’t be there, in other words, artificial demand. Of course, given more demand, but same supply, the thing will get more expensive. SH
- Most of the sectors listed in red have been taken over by private equity firms who corner the market, jack up prices, buy politicians to get more tax breaks. Now the $$ figure in %’s of tax cuts to corps & billionaires would be more than every other category, added together. – Jay
