• ‘m a center-right Texan. Fuck this bill. Get the names of everyone who voted yes on this, and get them out of office ASAP.
• This is literally how it starts. Absolutely and completely unconstitutional. Blatant violation of 1st Amendment rights.
• Politicians who introduce legislation that violates the bill of rights should be charge with mandatory felonies without the ability for a judge to throw it out. Send it to a jury and give the politician life in prison.
• Even if they overturn it, this needs to have consequences. This is treason done by the legislator and requires jail for those that support it.
• I hope the governor of Texas publicizes all the legislators who voted in favor of this bill, so everyone in Texas can vote them out of office.
• Hail no! Regardless of your political alignment, no one should support this. Passing a bill like this opens the door to future unconstitutional government infringement.
• The governor can simply veto the bill. And he should and likely will. I’ve read it. It’s textbook overreach and unconstitutional. A single challenge in the courts would overturn this bill. The fact it passed is more telling than anything else. Anyone who voted for this Bill should not be in political office. Period.
• To my fellow Texans, fight this bill and defend the constitution. This is not what we stand for. We rebelled once against the US, do not be afraid to rebel again.
• 1st Amendment anyone? The right to freedom of speech? The right to discuss grievances about the government sound familiar?
