She stood 10 feet back in the hall with the hammer cocked, telling the 911 operator what was happening and that she was ready to fire if he enters, but the police car sirens spooked him and he ran. • Twice in my life, I’ve had to pull my weapon that I carry daily. First time I was filling my SUV up with gas and five teens came over towards me, one of them pulled a knife and they headed right at me. I drew my weapon and pointed it at them, and they all ran off in different directions. The second time was when my upstairs neighbor had his wife by the throat and was choking her up against the wall while their children beat on his legs. I pointed my 45 at him and told him to drop her. He turned and looked at me and started down the stairs. I told him one more step and I was going to empty the magazine on him. I told him to sit down on the steps and he did. I held him there until the police arrived thankfully, I didn’t have to fire either time. But I would have there’s no question in my mind that I would’ve pulled the trigger if I had to. – Jeff G
