I believe he was intentionally trying to hurt and/or take out an opposition player. Trying to intentionally murder the opposition player is extremely unlikely. It appears to be a manslaughter case 100% – The Outsider
I’ve been a hockey fan for decades, and I fully expected to read that the skater was down on the ice when this occurred, so imagine my surprise when he wasn’t. It certainly looks like the other player raised his leg high enough that his skate caught his neck (perhaps a kick?). It will be interesting to see if any more footage is released from the incident, and if there will be any investigation – Marie Isabella
