• The intent might not have been murder. But you don’t get to “accidentally” kill someone without consequences just because it happened during a hockey game. Manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter charges are definitely appropriate. – Wall Street Silver

• I’ve been a hockey fan for decades, and I fully expected to read that the skater was down on the ice when this occurred, so imagine my surprise when he wasn’t. It certainly looks like the other player raised his leg high enough that his skate caught his neck (perhaps a kick?). It will be interesting to see if any more footage is released from the incident, and if there will be any investigation – Marie Isabella
