I wonder how the FAA clasifies this thing and what the pilot licensing requirements are?
I fly ELSA aircraft (experiment lite sport aircraft). My aircraft is classified as such because of its weight and fuel capacity. Since my ELSA is a two seater, I had to get an FAA lite sport aircraft pilots license. I went through all the training, took written test at FAA testing site, required to fly to other airports, had to fly with FAA examiner. Single seat aircraft in the weight shift control class do not have to do all that. You can fly with no training however I would not recommend it. Further, I can fly up to 10,000 feet. I notice this little thing keeps low to the ground. Probably cannot handle turbulence (lose of control)
I owned a Rotoway Scorpion 2 home assembled helicopter. The only requirements were for the air frame, it had to be worthy of flying. It did not have to demonstrate flight it just had to be well built.. There were no requirements for a license to fly it.
Good luck! The FAA has a minimum altitude for sustained flight of five hundred feet above ground.
Naked rotors flying on your “front bumper” and right up by that rotten pumpkin you call a brain as well.
What could possibly go wrong?
How is this in any way safer than an ultra light aircraft? It isn’t.
Also? It would be way less expensive to kill yourself in a sports car.
its not. My ELSA aircraft is pretty safe as long as one takes the training. If an idiot tried to fly without training, he would most likely crash.
Those forest trail videos look like green screens. $90,000 for a short flight? Even repeated, no thanks. I’ll stick with my cheap Sportster and a winding road. I guess I’m just not Instagram Cool.
