They knew Russia wasn’t really trying to mess with the election that much, but they pushed the story anyway. For example, in the months before the vote, the Intelligence Community said Russia probably wasn’t influencing things through cyber attacks.
But after Trump won, Obama held a meeting with top officials like James Clapper, John Brennan, and Susan Rice to talk about Russia. Right after, they ordered a new report claiming Russia did interfere, even though earlier info said otherwise.
This fake Russia story, called the “Russia hoax,” was used to spy on Trump’s team and try to get him impeached. Obama officials admitted they had no real proof of Trump-Russia collusion, but they kept going.
They leaked false info to the media, like The Washington Post, saying Russia hacked the election.
It was all politicized intelligence to hurt Trump. Gregg Jarrett from Fox News called it clear proof that Trump was framed.
