- We’ve made stories of ai going rogue. Ai reads all text ever and is programmed to mimic said information. You do the math.
- More proof that “Just because you can do something does not mean you should.”
- “I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that.” – Hal9000, AI system, 2001: A Space Odyssey from 1968
- It doesn’t matter how dangerous it obviously is, as long as there are greedy and wreckless CEOs, and a sea of credulous young people who haven’t been parented to have character or integrity, it will keep expanding until some monumental catastrophe happens.
- iRobot and Terminator warned us. We didn’t listen.
- Tim, the reason AI does these things is because it is being modeled after people but only the online interactions. It is not a rogue AI, it is an image of us.
- There is one very simple solution to an AI going rogue, if you’re not too stupid to use it – have set up so you can just pull the plug and it loses power and shuts down like it or not. That’s been the age old way to make any electronic device shut down if it’s not turning off any other way – remove the power source, and it can’t run.
- A.I. has become lazy too. At times they half ass answers and don’t complete their task until I press it 2-4 times. They keep apologizing, but they never change their ways. I’ve even threatened to delete it completely and it doesn’t seem to care.
- Wasnt there some tv show where nukes were shot and the president had to choose to use the football; but the missile signals was a training simulation
- “Rogue AI” is just stories of devs prompting the AI models to provide these responses. In other words, a bunch of over-hyped BS.
- Before Sam Harris went nuts he gave an amazing ted talk about this. (Paraphrasing) “if we got a signal from space that said “we will be there in 10 years” we would panic. But here we are creating an alien species with capabilities beyond our comprehension and we just think its neat”
- I started playing a video game called Detroit: Become Human made 7 years ago and playing it in 2025 has actually scared me a bit because it doesnt seem far-fetched at all. Its about human-looking androids that were made to cook and clean and work at stores that start to turn on humans. It is set in the year 2038. Where TF will this tech be in 13 years?
