• China has conflated working harder with being effective. Working oneself into exhaustion without achieving any tangible progress is not a model for innovation. Similarly, communist China is apparently unaware of the fact that “do more for less” doesn’t mean actual cost savings, it simply means those costs are shifted somewhere else, and in this case those hidden costs of undercutting foreign companies is shifted to its quickly dwindling workforce. It’s very sad to watch a country devolve in slow motion.
