DOJ Eyes Hate Crime Charges: The Shocking Escalation in Karmelo Anthony’s Murder Case
In a bombshell YouTube video that’s sending shockwaves through conservative circles, new allegations surface that Karmelo Anthony—the Texas teen accused of brutally stabbing high school track star Austin Metcalf to death—could soon face federal hate crime charges under President Trump’s Department of Justice. The video, titled “Karmelo Anthony Scam BUSTED! FBI Raid His Parents? Could Face BRUTAL New Charge According To DOJ!”, exposes a tangled web of fundraising scams, debunked FBI raid rumors, and the DOJ’s active investigation into elevating this state murder case to a federal level. As the DOJ reportedly “looks into the case,” with no charges decided yet but the possibility looming due to racial motivations, conservatives are demanding swift justice for what many see as a clear-cut hate crime fueled by anti-white animus.
This development comes amid ongoing outrage over Anthony’s family and supporters’ race-baiting tactics, which have turned a tragic stabbing into a divisive circus of white supremacy accusations. The incident that sparked this nightmare occurred on April 2, 2025, at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas. Karmelo Anthony, then 17 and now 18, allegedly grabbed a knife from his bag and fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a heated dispute. Police reports detail Anthony’s chilling admission: “I’m not alleged, I did it.” Metcalf, a promising white track athlete, died from his wounds, leaving his family devastated. Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, a charge that carries severe penalties but, as Collin County DA Greg Willis confirmed, won’t include the death penalty or life without parole due to Anthony’s age at the time of the crime.
Yet, conservatives argue this leniency is just the beginning of a skewed justice system that bends over backward for minority defendants while ignoring victims like Metcalf. From the outset, Anthony’s defense has leaned heavily on self-defense claims, but legal experts call it an “uphill battle.” Witnesses and evidence suggest premeditation—Anthony brought the knife to the event and fled afterward. His attorney, Mike Howard, insists race isn’t a factor, stating the law applies equally to all. But Anthony’s family spokesman, Dominique Alexander of the Next Generation Action Network (a BLM-style group), has injected venomous racial rhetoric into the mix. Following Anthony’s June 25 indictment, Alexander launched into a tirade, urging supporters to fight “white supremacy” and framing the prosecution as racist bigotry against a black teen defending himself. He compared Anthony’s plight to being “Black in America,” where self-defense is politicized, and called for prayers while decrying those “targeting” the family. This racial grandstanding reached a disgusting low during an April press conference, described by conservative outlets as the “most disgusting” ever seen. Alexander had Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, escorted out after he showed up seeking answers, labeling him “disrespectful” and implying racism. Alexander bizarrely blamed the Frisco ISD for not canceling the meet due to rain, threatening “direct action” if they expelled Anthony. He even mangled facts about Kyle Rittenhouse, falsely claiming he shot people in the back with an AK-47, to draw parallels. Comments on Anthony’s GiveSendGo fundraiser—now topping $549,877—reek of anti-white hate, with donors unchecked by the family.
GiveSendGo execs revealed the funds are for legal fees and “trauma counseling,” but co-founder Jacob Wells admitted he’s “not proud” to host it, noting some donors are “wrong.” The scam angle exploded in the viral video, highlighting fraudsters like Anne Crawl (alias Nick Bella), who infiltrated Anthony’s camp, faked donations, sold bogus merchandise, and forged documents—all while having a criminal history including fraud and faking cancer. Rumors of FBI raids on Anthony’s parents’ $30 million mansion were debunked as AI-generated misinformation, but the video stresses the real scandal: how Anthony’s supporters exploit racial division for cash. Despite no updates on fund usage in months, donations pour in, fueling conservative fury over profiting from violence. Now, the biggest twist: federal hate crime charges. As of mid-August 2025, sources report Trump’s DOJ is “looking into the case,” potentially charging Anthony federally due to racial motivations.

This stems from evidence suggesting the stabbing was a black-on-white attack, amplified by the family’s anti-white rhetoric. X users and conservative commentators have long called for this, arguing it’s a clear hate crime. One post demands: “There should be a federal hate crime indictment since Texas seems disinclined to seek the death penalty.” Another urges AG Pam Bondi to investigate as a civil rights violation. With Anthony on house arrest after his bond was slashed from $1M to $250K by Judge Angela Tucker—who faced doxxing threats and an FBI probe—the perceived softness stokes anger. Anthony even graduated high school despite the charges and moved to a $900K gated home, reportedly funded by donations. Conservatives view this as emblematic of a two-tiered justice system under liberal influence. The Blaze opines Anthony is no “civil rights icon,” criticizing schools for fearing racism accusations, leading to lax discipline that enabled the tragedy.
Frisco police slammed fake social media info early on, warning against racial misinformation. Metcalf’s home was swatted post-conference, and his obituary mailed to Anthony’s residence in harassment. Jeff Metcalf, while forgiving, dismissed Alexander’s rants, focusing on justice. The trial is set for June 1, 2026, but with DOJ scrutiny, federal charges could change everything. X buzz intensifies, with users labeling it a “hate crime” and demanding the death penalty. As one post puts it: “Karmelo Anthony stabbed a man over a seat or was it over his skin color… time to put him away for life.” Conservatives argue ignoring racial motivation here sets a dangerous precedent, especially when roles reversed would trigger immediate federal action. This case exposes the rot of race-hustling in America. Anthony’s team exploits division for sympathy and funds, while Metcalf’s family endures harassment. With Trump’s DOJ poised to act, perhaps real accountability is coming. Until then, the fight for equal justice continues.
