Trump’s call comes amid a surge in illegal immigration under the previous Biden administration, which conservatives argue was deliberately engineered to shift power toward blue states and undermine the integrity of our elections.
The problem is crystal clear: the current census counts every person in the country, regardless of legal status, for determining how many House seats and electoral votes each state gets. This unconstitutional practice, rooted in a twisted interpretation of the 14th Amendment, rewards Democrat strongholds like California and New York for harboring illegals, diluting the votes of real Americans in red states. Basic projections reveal the scam: California alone gains an extra 9 electoral votes by counting illegals, disenfranchising entire states like Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota combined. This isn’t representation—it’s foreign interference in our elections, plain and simple. Trump’s push for a new census isn’t new, but it’s more urgent than ever. During his first term, he signed a memorandum in July 2020 to exclude illegal migrants from apportionment, arguing that respecting the law and protecting democracy demands it. “States adopting policies that encourage illegal aliens to enter this country and that hobble Federal efforts to enforce the immigration laws passed by Congress should not be rewarded with greater representation in the House of Representatives,” Trump declared at the time.
Unfortunately, radical judges and the incoming Biden regime blocked this patriotic effort, with Biden issuing an executive order in January 2021 to count all illegals, claiming it upholds “equal representation.” What a joke—equal representation for criminals and invaders at the expense of citizens? Fast-forward to 2025, and Trump is back in the White House, wasting no time. On January 20, 2025—his inauguration day—he rescinded Biden’s disastrous order, signaling his intent to finally clean up the census mess.
Now, with support from firebrands like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump is endorsing calls for an immediate new census that counts only American citizens. Greene blasted the “census fraud” and urged Trump to order a redo right away, a plan that could strip Democrats of at least 10 House seats, probably more.
Charlie Kirk echoed this, noting that the botched 2020 census was “completely bastardized and flawed,” and only citizens should count. Republicans stand to gain big, reversing the theft of power by sanctuary states.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Sanctuary jurisdictions—13 states and over 220 cities and counties—are ground zero for this Democrat power grab. California, with its 2.6 million illegals, leads the pack, gaining 11 extra congressional seats thanks to immigrants and their kids. Texas, New York, Florida, New Jersey, and Illinois follow suit, artificially boosting their representation while red states like Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Minnesota, and West Virginia lose out.
If noncitizens were excluded from the 2020 count, California would have lost up to four seats, New York two, and the Electoral College would swing 12 votes toward Republicans. This isn’t just numbers—it’s trillions in federal funds funneled to blue havens that shield criminals from ICE. Look at New York City, where power-hungry Democrats are desperately maneuvering to keep nearly 2 million illegals on the 2030 census. A coalition of elected officials, activists, and labor leaders is plotting to inflate their counts, fearing the loss of at least two House seats. Rep. Yvette Clarke let the cat out of the bag: she needs more people in her district “for redistricting purposes.”
Councilwoman Julie Menin is pushing legislation to boost participation among “historically undercounted” groups—code for illegals—to secure more funding and seats. Experts like Lora Ries from the Heritage Foundation call it what it is: a strategy to boost Democrat electoral dominance through mass immigration. Trump’s team, including Stephen Miller, is all in. Miller vowed to “clean up the census and make sure that illegal aliens are not counted,” citing the president’s authority under cases like Franklin v. Massachusetts. Red state attorneys general from Louisiana, Ohio, Kansas, and West Virginia are suing to block illegals from census counts, arguing it violates equal protection for citizens. Republicans in Congress have introduced the Equal Representation Act to mandate a citizenship question and exclude noncitizens, though spineless Senate Democrats blocked similar efforts in 2024.
This isn’t about hate—it’s about justice. Illegals drain resources, commit crimes, and now steal our votes. Trump’s vision puts America first, ensuring representation for citizens only. If successful, it could reshape Congress, boost red states, and prevent future Democrat schemes. The time for action is now; delay means more power to the left’s invasion agenda.
