The incident happened last week in Miami, Florida. According to NBC6, the man stopped his car in the middle of the road in front of the police car. He then got out of the car to talk to the officer. On his way back to the car, he was jumped by the thugs who beat him with a bike and demolished his car. The female officer stayed in her car while the man was brutally beaten. It wasn’t until other officers arrived that the female cop got out of her car and walked over. “The members of the Miami Police Department understand and take great pride in upholding their responsibility to protect and serve our community. • Meet the “Public duty doctrine.” Police owe a duty to the public, at large, not any one member of it. The basis of the doctrine is so Courts don’t get in the business of second-guessing tactical decisions by law enforcement. Unrelated, but this is why persons who want to repeal your Second Amendment are dangerous. Law enforcement has NO DUTY to keep YOU safe. Its obligation is to the FLOCK, not any one sheep.
• She should have unholstered her weapon, with no reservation about emptying it. If the man had died, she would be guilty of his murder through negligence.
• What did you expect her to do by herself? Tell them to stop? They clearly didn’t care since they did this right in front of her to begin with. If you were in her shoes, you would’ve done the same thing, immediately called for backup, and then nothing else until backup arrived.
• Y’all are chastizing the officer and asking whether women should be cops or not. I’m not sure I disagree with the officer in this instance. She was all by herself facing what, a half a dozen offenders? If she had stepped in before backup arrived, it’s quite possible she might’ve been killed, or at the very least, there’d be 2 victims. In a different time, police officers got respect, but the fact that these people did this right in front of the police, tells you everything you need to know – she wouldn’t have stood a chance. What’s the probability that one of those animals would’ve stolen her firearm and started shooting? Suppose she had stepped in and in the process of defending herself or the other victim, a few of these thugs got injured or killed, then y’all would be screaming about that and Miami would burn. It’s easy to claim women should not be law enforcement officers, and then point to this clip as proof. Perhaps an argument could be made that in some situations, men are better able to handle the situation, but this clip is an extreme example. It also looks like this clip has been heavily edited, so we’re not seeing the complete story. A male officer, unless he was John Wick, would’ve been, at the minimum, seriously injured taking on that mob by himself too. Another important thing to point out is the Supreme Court has ruled that police officers are NOT required to put their life at risk to prevent harm to another. “To protect and serve” is a motto, not a legal requirement. This is why we are our own first responders, carry always if you’re comfortable doing so. – Bringbackcommonsense
• She was obviously never meant to wear the badge. We need to do more psychological testing before hiring police officers. Or perhaps she was a DEI hire. Either way she needs to be fired or at least put behind a desk somewhere in the department.
• Male or female, police depts shouldn’t hire cowards. Personally I don’t think most females have the wherewithall to be street cops. The ones I have seen are too small & weak or else too fat & out of shape to successfully engage in physical combat especially with males. I think female cops are a liability & burden on their brother officers in a physical altercation. Similarly women have no business being in frontline combat units like Infantry or Spec Ops units. Women aren’t built for combat, it’s just a fact. Women’s bodies do not have the muscle strength or durability of joints & bones to withstand it. I think women should absolutely be trained for combat ofc…. just in case the shtf. And btw I am a female veteran who served 15 yrs in the USAF. I have been called “the bravest woman in the world” by some old Viet Nam vets that I hunt wild hogs with, so maybe I have the heart & courage to not let my brother soldiers down in combat, but my female body just is not up to the challenge, nor will it ever be no matter what shape I am in or how much muscle I build. I think it’s selfish & arrogant to add an extra risk & burden to our fighting men just because you wanna “hang with the big dogs” or think you will miss out on a promotion. In war, women should be ready to help their men however they can & gth out of the way when they can’t.
