• Biggest mistakes by the Daily Wire were not releasing “What is a Woman” and “Am I Racist?” to the public for free. Those documentaries would have set them up for years. I still haven’t watched them.
• Not Bonkers, they’ve been hemorrhaging subscriptions every since Jeremy Boring went after Steven Crowder. Then they lost Candice and Brett Cooper.
• DW lost me with firing Brett Cooper and being so shady about it….I never really watched her but it just struck me as bad…then the Derrick Chauvin stuff happend and I just could not be okay with that grift.
• The same guy who bragged about how we shouldn’t care what happened in 1963, but we must always never forget his ppl in the 1940s.
• No offense to anyone but Ben been dismissive about whole JFK thing cause Israel was involved. Just saying, his past reactions to anything was critical to Israel he would get defensive.
• Ben Shapiro was on Megyn Kelly’s podcast this week, she straight up asked him about the Jeremy Boreing stuff, he said he was going to do his own creative stuff, and denied any financial issues at the company. If the company is bankrupt, he’s dead to me. You can disagree with me about all the political stuff, and cool, I’ll listen. But you can’t piss on me and tell me its raining. – Greg K
• I didn’t continue my subscription to DailyWire+ this year.. Matt Walsh became the only reason I was paying for it.. I would tune into Michael Knowles sometimes, but Matt Walsh, I watched every day.. And I agree with Jeremy that he will be just fine.. I’m sure DailyWire+ was a net positive in the Conservative space (to some people), but I stopped liking Jeremy Boreing and watching Ben Shapiro.. So, it is what is.. • Daily Wire tried to become a movie/streaming production company. This caused cost overruns and put them into a bad position. A restructure is necessary to remove the Hollywood chasers
• The Pharaoh in the Ten Commandments movie says to his soon to be queen “You are going to be mine, all mine, like my dog or my horse or my falcon. Only I will love you more, and trust you less.”. Thats kinda how I think about Daily Wire. I love them in many ways but don’t trust them at all.
• Ive been one of those that has said the DW is NOT a net positive. Because it doesn’t matter when in the end these people are just grifters and are greedy. Thats not a net positive. I think they are getting exactly what they deseve.
• My super normie not politically plugged in at all fiancé (who tends to be a little bit of a lefty sometimes when she does have opinions although very tame) asked me if I know who Candice Owens is because she has been watching her celebrity content and absolutely loves it, and my jaw kind of dropped. I didn’t realize the kind of broader appeal she had and most importantly how hard the daily wire messed up in letting her go over questioning tiny hat superiority. Like if they could blunder the potential earnings and brand recognition that kind of creator can bring in to an otherwise political channel, what other horribly short sighted business decisions are they making
• I’m very neutral on the Israel-Palestine conflict, as I’m aware I only know enough to realise I don’t know enough. But Ben’s ‘Israel can do no wrong’ rhetoric was never going to help the channel. I watch a blue collar youtuber who buys cars, fixes them and sells on. Excess of 300k subscribers. From the comments, it’s easy to deduce the viewers are 99% men, mostly conservative, many ex-military. With the outbreak of the war in Gaza, the channel started a fundraising for the FIDF (Friends of the Israeli Defence Forces). It aimed to raise something like $50,000 in 60 days. They pulled it after 10 days when it had raised $150. Yep – $150 in 10 days. American’s are America First. They are not Israel First. I don’t think Ben realises this. American’s don’t want to be drawn into other people’s wars. Again, I don’t think Ben realises this. A small parcel of the Christian Right align with Ben’s views, but they are in a tiny minority of the overall population. His extreme take was always going to be a net negative for the channel.
• Maybe if matt walsh hated anime harder he’d eventually come to realize it unironically drove more young men to the right than his dime store effort mockumentaries and tepid social commentary ever could.
