- I’m lower middle class. I’ll probably suffer a bit due to tariffs. Who cares? I want America to be self sufficient. I want my country to produce our own food and commodities. I want my country to be number one and not reliant on countries that hate us.
- Got into an argument with a bunch of Canadians about how we don’t need the lumber we are buying from them at their ridiculous tariffs of 50%. They truly thought it was ok because we couldn’t supply our own lumber, which is ridiculous. Of course we can supply our own lumber. We just don’t.
- Tired of supporting the whole world. Tariffs onward until those ingrates treat us fair in trade and everything else.

- existing tariffs on US products by foreign countries have been hurting US employment and business for decades. Waging a tariff war rewards countries that are self sufficient, so the US must MUST bring back all ALL the exported jobs. This is the disease of weak politicians over the last 35 years. Career politicians with fake law degrees and no experience in business are the bane of our Republic.

- Agreed. Even as a Albertan I see the benefits of tariffs the USA is doing. When you guys formed your country and had no income taxes, Americans used tariffs to make money. This forced the people to fill the void and create industry. This will have a long term benefit to the USA. Yes it will suck for a bit but the USA will be better off in the long term.

- Americans don’t understand how important they are to the world, not in a military way. I think the productive capacity of the United States because of the human capital and the freedom that can lead to breakthroughs, and that’s what makes it so important. I’m from Israel and I work in the aviation industry. When the war in Ukraine started, we really felt the importance of global aluminum production, most of which happens in Ukraine. America is strong. - Michigander here with a GM and brake pad manufacturing plants up the road from me. They use trains to ship and receive parts and materials as their main way of shipping. They just added 2 more train stops scheduled each week. They may need to add more soon since I was stopped by a 30 minute long wait for a train to cross at the exit of my subdivision on my way to work. These tariffs are working from what I can see as the plants are getting more supplies than usual and sending more out.
- The US has subsidized the EU for long enough. While they enjoy 30/hour work weeks, excellent social welfare programs, free healthcare, defense, roughly $50 costs to travel anywhere in Europe, etc, Americans are struggling working 2 jobs just to get by. Time level the playing field. Europe is already starting to end certain social programs. Let’s keep it up. – Mike
