Harvard’s Arthur Brooks dropped some eye-opening stats about mental health and happiness in politics, and let’s just say it’s not looking great for some groups: Brooks: “ White liberal women under 30 have almost a 6 in 10 chance of having been diagnosed with a mental illness in America today. Liberal women have overtaken liberal men as the unhappiest group.” Meanwhile, “conservative women are particularly blissful,” with 40% saying they’re very happy—putting them ahead of conservative men and leaving liberal women far behind in the joy department. And liberal men? Brooks: “Only about a fifth consider themselves very happy.” Ouch.
