This demonstration is part of Tesla’s ongoing development of Optimus, initially unveiled in 2021. The robot is designed for tasks that are unsafe, repetitive, or boring for humans. Musk noted that Optimus isn’t yet capable of autonomously performing tasks like shirt folding but aims for it to achieve such autonomy in various environments. Tesla’s goals for Optimus include advanced tasks, like threading a needle by the end of 2024, showcasing significant progress in robotics.
