When running for president in 2008, Obama strongly opposed gay marriage. “In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination,” a 21 year old Obama said. “My mind is androgynous to a great extent and I hope to make it more so until I can think in terms of people, not women as opposed to men. LEAK: BARACK OBAMA IMAGINED INTIMATE RELATIONS WITH MEN | IS OBAMA GAY? Multiple reports suggest that Former President Barack Obama is gay, a claim vehemently denied by his supporters. In a redacted portion of a now-notorious 1982 letter, he wrote about his own “androgynous” mind and the act of “making love to men daily, but in the imagination.” In a recently resurfaced letter to an ex-girlfriend, Obama expressed his thoughts on homosexuality, seeing it as “an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life.” He also mentioned that he “makes love to men daily, but in the imagination.” Obama further stated that his mind is “androgynous to a great extent” and that he aspires to think in terms of people, not differentiating between women and men.
However, he acknowledged that he has been made a man physically and chooses to accept that reality. The letter is currently held by Emory University, which doesn’t allow it to be photographed or removed. Instead, Garrow’s friend Harvey Klehr transcribed the paragraphs by hand and sent them to the author. It’s important to note that these are reflections from a specific point in time in Obama’s life (Obama was 21 when the letter was written). He is a complex individual, and his views on sexuality and gender may have evolved since he wrote this letter. According to a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, most adults will change in at least one Big Five trait every few years.
The most common changes are in openness (willingness to experience new things and be open to new ideas) and conscientiousness. Obama, a father of two, has been married to his wife Michelle since 1992. Garrow mentioned that there is nothing unusual about such youthful musings, considering that a significant majority of human beings have sexual fantasies. MY THOUGHTS: Does it really matter what anyone’s sexual orientation is? Obama could be any gender, sexual orientation or race, it DOESN’T MATTER. All we should care about is whether he’s a good LEADER and a good PERSON. Also it’s important to note Obama was 21 in 1982, so everything referenced above is about the Obama under the age of 21.
