The crap that were “hippies” and ne’er do-wells a couple of generations ago have procreated and raised the super crap of today.
Honestly? It started happening at the end of the Korean conflict around the same time that two income families became the norm for the US. Hippies were the first fall out as a result. Basically they never grew up and never learned any parenting skills.
Then these children started producing their own children and by then schools were starting to degrade into nothing more than government run babysitting schools where parents were largely uninvolved with their children’s education and moral upbringing.
The child’s routine became, wake up, a quick snack of sugar for breakfast and out the door to school till around 3:30PM. Then over to play with friends, who were themselves parentally deprived, scribble homework for 30 minutes, watch TV till 10 or 11PM, then to bed and do it all over again five times in a row, with who knows what on weekends. School/teacher involvement 35 to 40 hours a week, parental involvement less than 20 hours a week, and we wonder why kids are turning out the way they do.
Mankind has forgotten the instruction given to mankind over 3,000 years ago.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
NOTE: The instruction is directed at parents, not teachers, schools or government.
