President Trump labeled Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is either “incompetent” or “crooked” in the latest escalation of his war with the head of the central bank. “He’s billions of dollars over budget, so he either is incompetent or he’s crooked. I don’t know what he is — but certainly he doesn’t do a very good job.” The DOJ is currently investigating Powell over the pricey renovations to the Fed’s Washington headquarters, and served grand jury subpoenas to the bank, which “threatened a criminal indictment related to [his] testimony.”
