Deep State John Thune, Deep State Republican Senate Leader – thinks we don’t know what he did

Trump, fresh off his landslide 2024 victory, sought to use this power to install loyalists in key positions across the judiciary, executive agencies, and prosecutorial roles—potentially hundreds of nominees stalled by Democratic filibusters. However, Thune orchestrated a series of “pro forma” sessions, brief sham meetings every few days with no real business conducted, to prevent a true recess from occurring. This tactic, rarely used against a president of the same party, effectively handcuffed Trump and allowed Deep State holdovers to continue their resistance from within the bureaucracy.

Conservative commentators erupted in outrage. On his Infowars platform, Alex Jones labeled it “SWAMP SABOTAGE,” accusing Thune of waging a “covert war” to stifle Trump’s populous agenda. Jones highlighted how Thune’s move protected entrenched interests, arguing that Trump’s biggest threat isn’t Democrats but “Deep State Republicans” like Thune. Similarly, The Gateway Pundit branded Thune a “hypocrite” for publicly slamming Democrats’ nominee blockades while employing the same obstructive tactics himself. Thune’s defenders claimed it was procedural, but MAGA voices saw through the ruse. As one X post thundered, “John Thune just blocked President Trump from making recess appointments… This isn’t ‘procedural.’ It’s sabotage. Thune is Mitch 2.0 in a cowboy hat.”

On Fox News, Thune claimed the election was fair, a position that alienated MAGA grassroots who viewed it as capitulation to the Deep State steal. The Federalist criticized Thune for this, arguing he prioritized Beltway decorum over fighting for Trump’s supporters. Then, in the wake of January 6, 2021, Thune blamed Trump for the events, stating the president bore “some responsibility” and that his rhetoric had gone too far. Although Thune ultimately voted to acquit in the second impeachment trial, his public finger-pointing fueled media narratives against Trump, drawing ire from outlets like Townhall, which accused him of aiding the left’s witch hunt. Thune’s legislative betrayals further cement his traitor status. In 2021, he voted for the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, a bloated spending package Trump vehemently opposed as a giveaway to Democrats and special interests. Conservative Roof reported this as Thune ignoring Trump’s pleas, enabling Biden’s agenda while pretending to support fiscal conservatism.

Similarly, Thune backed multiple Ukraine aid packages totaling over $100 billion, despite Trump’s warnings that such funding perpetuated endless wars and drained American resources. MAGA voices on X decried this as Thune’s Deep State loyalty, with one post noting, “Thune’s Ukraine votes are proof he’s more globalist than America First.” In 2022, Thune supported the Respect for Marriage Act, codifying same-sex marriage federally—a move seen by social conservatives as a betrayal of traditional values Trump championed. Even in Trump’s second term, Thune’s obstruction persists. Beyond the recess fiasco, he has slow-walked confirmations for Trump’s nominees, allowing Democrats to maintain a de facto veto. In September 2025, Thune refused to censure Rep. Adam Schiff despite calls from MAGA leaders like Gunther Eagleman, who blasted him on X for protecting a key anti-Trump figure.

On camera, Thune praises Trump, but his votes and maneuvers tell a different story—one of calculated subversion. The MAGA movement demands accountability. As Donald Russo tweeted, Thune’s pro forma sessions were a “major betrayal,” hurting Trump by blocking essential appointments. Calls for primaries grow louder, with figures like Lara Logan questioning who’s truly standing in Trump’s way. Thune’s pattern—lying about support while actively thwarting reforms—exposes him as a traitor. For Trump to succeed, such RINOs must be purged.  President might have to deal with him as he does command the Senate, but it is now up to MAGA to help America and Trump, and get rid of this man from politics ASAP.
