In a raw interview on “Going Rogue with Lara Logan,” Hopkins disclosed that she was arrested just three weeks prior and interrogated under caution by authorities. She’s now awaiting formal charges for what she describes as an “online communications crime-of-speech” stemming from her popular virtual pub night show, “The Katie’s Arms.” This online comedy series, where Hopkins skewers politically correct absurdities with her trademark biting humor, has apparently crossed the invisible line drawn by Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s administration. As Hopkins put it, her shows allow people to “laugh at the things you’re not allowed” to say, but in today’s UK, even comedy in the guise of satire can land you in handcuffs.
Hopkins, often dubbed Britain’s most banned woman, has long been a thorn in the side of the left-wing establishment. Her journey from reality TV star to outspoken conservative firebrand has seen her censored, deplatformed, and now, apparently, criminalized for daring to challenge the status quo. Banned from Twitter (now X) in 2020 for her unfiltered takes on immigration, Islam, and cultural decay, she was reinstated in 2023 under Elon Musk’s free speech-friendly regime. But her troubles didn’t end there. These prosecutions fall under outdated laws like the Communications Act 2003, which criminalizes “grossly offensive” messages, and the newer Online Safety Act 2023, seen by critics as a tool for stifling dissent. The New York Post has exposed how Starmer’s regime has weaponized these statutes, creating an elite squad to monitor social media while ignoring rampant real-world crimes like car thefts (with only 4% charged in London) and shoplifting (just 3% charged).

Take the case of Bernadette Spofforth, a Cheshire businesswoman arrested in July 2024 after retweeting content about migrants following the tragic Southport stabbings. She spent 36 hours in custody for what authorities deemed “incitement,” even though she deleted the post shortly after. Or Lucy Connolly, wife of a Tory councillor, who was slapped with a 31-month prison sentence for a tweet advocating mass deportations in the wake of the same incident—despite deleting it quickly. These women, like Hopkins, weren’t inciting violence; they were voicing frustrations shared by millions about uncontrolled immigration and cultural erosion. The hypocrisy is glaring, pointing to what conservatives call “two-tier policing.” When Labour councillor Ricky Jones called for the murder of anti-migration protesters, he walked free. Contrast that with ordinary Brits like Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levine, arrested for criticizing their children’s school in a private WhatsApp group, or Jamila Abdi, charged for using colorful language during a soccer match on X. Even spoof videos aren’t safe: Dimitrie Stoica was jailed for a TikTok parody. And in a nod to the culture wars, Adam Smith-Connor was fined for silently praying outside an abortion clinic. These examples, as highlighted in conservative outlets, illustrate how Starmer’s government is updating definitions of “terrorist ideology” to include “cultural nationalism”—code for anyone opposing mass migration.
Tommy Robinson, another prominent conservative activist, embodies this persecution. Arrested on terrorism charges in July 2024 after hosting a massive “Unite the Kingdom” rally in London—attended by over 100,000 patriots—he was released but continues to face harassment for exposing child grooming gangs and criticizing Islamization. The Gateway Pundit reported how Starmer, as former Director of Public Prosecutions, failed to aggressively pursue those gangs, prioritizing political correctness over justice. Now, as PM, he’s doubling down, with critics like Elon Musk blasting him for ignoring real threats while jailing dissenters. This assault on free speech has international ramifications. The U.S. State Department’s Human Rights Report under Trump flagged the UK’s deteriorating freedom of expression, and figures like Hopkins have fled to America for safety. In a PragerU video, she recounted her “most courageous moment”: leaving everything behind in Britain to protect her family from the encroaching tyranny.
Her story resonates with conservatives worldwide, who see Britain’s plight as a warning: when governments label comedy, prayer, or criticism as crimes, democracy dies. Starmer’s thought police aren’t just after celebrities like Hopkins; they’re targeting everyday conservatives who dare to believe in free speech. As arrests mount and prisons fill with “keyboard warriors,” the UK risks becoming a dystopia where only approved narratives survive. Hopkins’ defiance in “The Katie’s Arms” reminds us: laughter and truth are powerful weapons against oppression. But if conservatives don’t push back, the chill on speech will spread, silencing the very voices needed to reclaim Britain’s freedoms.
