A MUM tragically plunged to her death in front of her son while taking a selfie to celebrate a successful bungee jump. Elizaveta “Liza” Gishchina slipped and fell 290ft moments after she was filmed jumping from the platform to mark her birthday. The 45-year-old mother-of-two can be seen in the video laughing and saying: “Let’s go!” before screaming with joy as she plummeted towards the earth. The footage shows her swinging from an “elastic rope” just above the ground, after which she was left uninjured. Liza decided to re-scale the tower after her first jump – located in Pavlovsk, near Russia’s St Petersburg – in order to “take a selfie as a keepsake”. Tragedy struck when she stood on the platform – 290ft above ground – without safety ropes.
