Even the vaunted Scandinavian model, often mislabeled as “socialism” by American progressives like Bernie Sanders, is a myth. These nations thrive on free-market capitalism with high taxes funding welfare—not true socialism—but even they strain under the weight, with high youth unemployment and innovation stifled by regulation.

Germany’s “alternative to American capitalism”—a mix of organized labor, big government, and green socialism—has resulted in years of stagnation, with manufacturing giants like Volkswagen hemorrhaging jobs amid energy crises. The EU’s obsession with net-zero policies, driven by woke environmentalism, has made the bloc dependent on foreign energy, enriching adversaries like Russia and China while crippling its own industries. Immigration policy reveals the deadly synergy between socialism and wokeness. Woke activists, amplified by media, demonize dissenters, ensuring policies prioritize virtue-signaling over viability. Culturally, wokeness has corroded Europe’s heritage. From rewriting history to appease minorities to enforcing gender ideology in schools, the continent’s Judeo-Christian foundations are under assault. In Spain, socialists exhume figures like Francisco Franco to stoke division, clinging to power through ideological theater. The rise of far-left narratives in media and academia—echoing Marxist subversion—has normalized anti-Western sentiment, even as communism’s horrors are forgotten. Europe’s old parties are collapsing under this weight, with Tories and Labour alike succumbing to woke-socialist hybrids that alienate voters.
