In a fiery podcast episode (above) that has ignited conservative outrage, award-winning investigative journalist Lara Logan didn’t mince words: “There is, right now, no greater threat to the United States of America and to the people of this nation than those who are currently in power on the right in the GOP, House and Senate, who are blocking President Trump’s agenda.” Speaking on her show “Going Rogue with Lara Logan,” alongside General Michael Flynn, Logan blasted Republican lawmakers for their inaction and deliberate obstruction. “They’re either doing that through failure to act or dragging their heels, dragging things out, slow rolling him,” she declared, echoing the frustrations of millions of Trump supporters who see the GOP establishment as complicit in undermining the president’s mandate.

Logan’s call-out highlights a deeper rot within the Republican Party: RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) colluding with Democrats to thwart Trump’s bold reforms on borders, sovereignty, and draining the swamp. At the forefront of this betrayal is Senate Majority Leader John Thune, whose sneaky procedural maneuvers have prevented Trump from making critical recess appointments, stalling the America First agenda and leaving the nation vulnerable to deep state sabotage. Thune’s obstructionism reached new heights during the Senate’s August 2025 recess. Despite Trump’s urgent pleas to cancel the break and confirm his nominees, Thune defied the president, opting instead to keep the Senate in faux “session” through a series of pro forma meetings—brief, symbolic gatherings where no real business is conducted.

This tactic ensures the Senate isn’t technically in recess for the constitutionally required 10 days, blocking Trump from exercising his recess appointment powers under Article II. As a result, Trump couldn’t bypass the Senate to install loyalists in key positions, including judges and prosecutors needed to combat judicial tyranny and enforce border security. “In typical RINO fashion, Thune applied the ol’ bait and switch,” as one conservative outlet put it, securing unanimous consent for these sham sessions on dates like August 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, and 29. This left roughly 150-160 executive and judicial nominations in limbo, including district court judges and U.S. attorneys, allowing Democrat-appointed “black-robed tyrants” to continue sabotaging Trump’s policies.

Trump himself sounded the alarm, urging Thune to “cancel the August recess” to “get his judicial nominees confirmed.” Senator Mike Lee amplified the call, arguing that if the Senate must recess, it should do so without pro forma sessions to allow recess appointments, as the Constitution permits. “We need them badly!!!” Trump exclaimed on Truth Social, highlighting how Democrats’ “delay and obstruction” has bottled up his picks. Yet Thune, backed by House Speaker Mike Johnson, pressed ahead with the vacation, prioritizing lawmakers’ downtime over the nation’s security. This isn’t just incompetence—it’s deliberate sabotage, reminiscent of Mitch McConnell’s playbook, with RINOs like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski smirking in approval during Thune’s announcement.

Conservatives are furious, with voices like Gunther Eagleman noting that backlash forced Thune to cave somewhat, altering procedures for fast-tracking nominations—but only after the damage was done. This recess fiasco is part of a broader pattern where Democrats and RINOs form a uniparty alliance to derail Trump’s agenda. During Trump’s first term, Senate Democrats filibustered and delayed confirmations, forcing him to rely on recess appointments for figures like Mick Mulvaney as acting chief of staff. Now, with Republicans in control, it’s their own party stabbing him in the back. Thune’s actions echo the 2017-2021 era when RINOs slow-walked Trump’s border wall funding, judicial picks, and immigration reforms, allowing open borders and endless lawfare against the president.

As Logan pointed out, why no hearings on Russia collusion, the Ukraine impeachment hoax, or January 6th? “Who was behind framing American people, targeting them, denying them their First Amendment rights?” she demanded. The answer: a cabal of establishment Republicans more interested in maintaining the status quo than fighting for America First. Look no further than red states, where RINOs masquerade as conservatives while undermining Trump’s priorities. Trump’s endorsement of such figures risks alienating his base, as these RINOs block E-Verify expansions and border security enhancements that align with his deportation plans. In Florida, despite Governor Ron DeSantis’ support for Trump’s mass deportations, GOP leaders resisted, watering down immigration bills and stalling gun rights reforms. These “red state” RINOs hold massive majorities but deliver nothing, proving conservatives “can’t make America great again until they hold red state RINOs accountable.” Democrats, of course, are the primary culprits in this obstruction. Senate Democrats have dug in, refusing to confirm Trump’s nominees and forcing protracted battles.

Chuck Schumer’s minions threaten filibusters and blue slips—a courtesy allowing home-state senators to veto judicial picks—holding up figures like Alina Habba and Jeanine Pirro. This “dangerous and ugly precedent” has prompted Thune to warn of repercussions, but his own blocking of recess appointments makes him complicit. Meanwhile, radical judges appointed by Biden and Obama continue to sabotage Trump: blocking deportation orders, halting border wall construction, and even pursuing lawfare against his allies. Trump’s team is now considering lawsuits to override blue slips, but the delays empower the deep state. The uniparty’s betrayal extends to economic sabotage. RINOs like Nevada’s Sam Brown surround themselves with anti-Trump staffers who mock his tariffs, while Arizona’s Maricopa County election officials like Stephen Richer oppose conservative reforms.

Elon Musk has fired warning shots at “dirty Senate RINOs,” reminding them that Trump’s landslide victory—popular vote, electoral college, all swing states—demands action. Yet, figures like Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo are sidelined, as Trump vows to purge the party of sellouts. Conservatives are fighting back. The “RINO Removal Project” targets these traitors, aiming to replace them with true America First warriors. In Kansas, lawsuits against Pfizer expose Big Pharma collusion, while judicial coups attempt to undermine Trump’s election integrity efforts. But as Logan warned, “If the Republicans don’t act, this country is absolutely finished.” Trump’s second term is already outpacing Reagan’s revolution, with safer streets and stronger communities—but RINOs like Thune threaten it all.

The path forward is clear: primary the RINOs, demand accountability, and support Trump’s purge. As Massie revealed, GOP leaders plan to block recess appointments to protect their power. But with public pressure mounting—Thune partially caving on fast-tracking—victory is possible. America voted for Trump to dismantle the uniparty. It’s time for Republicans to get out of the way or get replaced.
