The chase with the suspects started in Lancaster when the carjackers stole a Ford F-150 pickup. They then ended up on the wrong side of the 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, where they stopped a tanker truck. Now in the semi-truck, the carjackers continued their joy ride near downtown before ditching the ride for another pickup truck. From there, they were chased to Lincoln Heights, where they were able to “discreetly ditch the truck” before jumping into a black sedan. “Officers lost sight of the truck.
