The glyphosate poison problem in America is so much bigger than anyone realizes. Joe Rogan clip, more

Article on glyphoasate in our food is below this top clip

“Recent studies in the air and rainfall in the Southern United states is showing 75% of the rain, 75% of the air is contaminated with Roundup” “You’ve got the Mississippi river, which collects over 80% of all the Roundup in the country. And then it’s evaporating the whole time. So it’s going into the air that you breathe, and then it goes into the clouds and then it rains down on us” “The current statistics is that less than 1/10 of 1% of the roundup used on the planet actually hits a weed. The other 99.99% gets into the soil and in the water system and washes off.”

The Dangers of Glyphosate in the U.S. Food Supply

In a recent X post by @WallStreetApes  (above), a clip from podcaster Rich Roll highlights the alarming scope of glyphosate contamination in America. The video warns that “recent studies in the air and rainfall in the Southern United States is showing 75% of the rain, 75% of the air is contaminated with Roundup.” It further explains how the Mississippi River collects over 80% of the nation’s Roundup, which evaporates into the air, forms clouds, and rains back down on us. The clip also claims that less than 0.1% of applied Roundup hits weeds, with the rest infiltrating soil, water systems, and even ancient fossil aquifers, turning vast areas like 1,000 square miles of Texas into deserts over the past 20 years. This post, viewed over 158,000 times, underscores a growing concern: glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is pervasive in our environment and food supply, posing significant health risks.
Glyphosate, introduced by Monsanto (now Bayer) in 1974, is the world’s most widely used herbicide. It’s applied to genetically modified crops like corn, soy, and wheat to kill weeds without harming the plants. In the U.S., over 250 million pounds are used annually, primarily in agriculture. This widespread application leads to residues in everyday foods. Studies have detected glyphosate in cereals, oats, honey, and even organic products due to cross-contamination. For instance, the Environmental Working Group found glyphosate in 80% of urine samples from Americans, indicating chronic low-level exposure through diet.
The health dangers of glyphosate are hotly debated, but mounting evidence points to serious risks. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization, classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans” in 2015, based on animal studies showing tumor formation and limited human evidence linking it to non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Epidemiological research among U.S. farmers has shown a potential 40% increased risk of NHL with high exposure.
Beyond cancer, glyphosate disrupts the gut microbiome by acting as an antibiotic, potentially contributing to gastrointestinal disorders like celiac disease and inflammatory bowel issues.
Animal studies reveal kidney and liver damage, including hepatomegaly and hepatitis, even at low doses.
Neurological effects are particularly concerning. Recent research from Arizona State University suggests glyphosate accumulates in the brain, mimicking Alzheimer’s-like damage by increasing oxidative stress and inflammation.
A 2022 review linked exposure to neurotoxicity, including disrupted nerve function and increased risk of Parkinson’s disease. Prenatal and childhood exposure is especially risky; a Berkeley study found that early-life contact with glyphosate raises the odds of liver inflammation and metabolic disorders in young adulthood. These findings align with reports of reproductive problems, birth defects, and endocrine disruption, as glyphosate mimics hormones and interferes with thyroid function.
Environmental contamination exacerbates these dangers, making avoidance difficult. The X post’s claim about 75% contamination stems from a 2007 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) study in Mississippi, where glyphosate was detected in over 75% of air and rain samples during the growing season.
While not indicating that 75% of the air or rain consists of the chemical, it shows widespread presence. A 2020 USGS report confirmed glyphosate in 66 of 70 U.S. streams and rivers across various land uses.
Rain washes glyphosate into waterways, and evaporation cycles it back into the atmosphere, as described in the clip. This “raindown” effect contaminates even organic farms, with runoff polluting aquifers and contributing to dead zones in the Gulf of Mexico.Despite these concerns, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maintains that glyphosate is safe when used as labeled, concluding it’s “not likely carcinogenic” and poses no human health risks at approved levels.
The EPA sets tolerances for residues in food, but critics argue these are outdated and ignore cumulative effects. In contrast, the European Union has phased out glyphosate in some contexts, and countries like Mexico plan bans by 2024. Legal battles in the U.S. have resulted in billions in settlements for NHL victims claiming Roundup caused their cancer, though Bayer denies liability.
The discrepancy between agencies highlights industry influence; the EPA has faced criticism for relying on manufacturer data and ignoring independent studies.
A 2022 court ruling vacated parts of the EPA’s glyphosate approval for failing to assess cancer and endangered species risks adequately.
Ecologically, glyphosate harms biodiversity, killing beneficial plants and insects, and the EPA admits it endangers 93% of threatened species.
To mitigate exposure, consumers can choose organic foods, which prohibit glyphosate, though cross-contamination remains a risk.
Supporting regenerative farming and advocating for stricter regulations are crucial. As the X post warns, this isn’t just a farming issue—it’s a public health crisis infiltrating our air, water, and plates. With glyphosate’s half-life in soil up to 197 days, its legacy could persist for generations, demanding urgent action to safeguard our food supply and health.

More on Glyphosate

Nicole Shanahan is sounding the alarm on a dangerous plan to give pesticide companies immunity for the harm their products cause. Nicole Shanahan: “Glyphosate to me is one of these things that’s just as bad as the mRNA vaccine in terms of human health, lack of disclosures, and lack of government accountability.” “The 1986 vaccine safety act gave immunity to vaccine manufacturers such that if you’re injured by a vaccine you can’t directly sue the manufacturer.” “They’re trying to do that same thing with glyphosate right now.” Chuck Benbrook: “The pesticide industry is working very hard to try to change federal and state laws so that pesticide companies can’t be sued, in state court, over harms from pesticides that weren’t properly disclosed.”

Test results show Girl Scout Cookies are extremely toxic, ALL OF THEM Joe Rogan “They’re f*cking toxic as f*ck” – 100% of Girl Scout cookies contained glyphosate, controversial herbicide in Roundup – 88% contain toxic metals like arsenic, lead, and mercury – Key finding Thin Mints had the highest glyphosate levels, levels at 111.07 PPB. This is 334 TIMES what experts say is harmful – Peanut Butter Patties had the highest heavy metal contamination with lead reaching 42.5 PPB and aluminum at 27,500 PPB – 76% of cookies tested exceeded cadmium safety limits – 96% contained lead
