According to local reports, Uribe was hit with a bullet and was rushed to the hospital. “We energetically reject this attack that not only endangers the life of a political leader, but also is an attack on democracy and freedom in Colombia,” the Democratic Center said in a statement. “Images of the incident showed bystanders holding Uribe, who was apparently shot in the head at a political rally,” Colombia News reported. Other reports suggest Uribe was hit on the right side of his body.
