He is the leader of the biggest opposition party; however, in recent local and national elections, his party has been losing support from the people, and the only reason he chose to work with the government as a minister wasn’t because he “respected” Ramaphosa; it’s because he knew that was his only chance to gain actual power in government. He is just as corrupt as the rest of the government.
