- My mother is a boomer. Voted for trump. And she moved in after my second child was born to help out. She’s been very helpful. She also buys groceries because she understands times have changed.
- We boomers are removed from reality because our parents sacrificed so much to shelter us from it, that we take said shelter for granted. As a late boomer, I started to see the cracks in the illusion, but it took me decades to understand any of the dynamics.
- I’m a pro Trump boomer. I think it’s the “Hippies” of my generation who aren’t. Put the blame where it belongs instead of lumping us all together.
- Boomer parents actually told us to not expect any inheritance, as they planned on spending everything before they died. Ok, it’s your life, but dafuq you telling this to our face for? They can’t understand why we can’t afford the house style they have, a house they bought when it was $120k, and it’s over $650k now. Told them it takes a $180k salary to live in their neighborhood, and was told I was crazy, because they are retired and live there. Yet they own their home and don’t realize the taxes alone on their house is more than my mortgage on my condo. They went out and bought two nearly brand new vehicles in the same year, while taking multiple vacations. Can’t understand why we are struggling to afford repair costs on our 10 year old vehicles and why can’t we just get new ones that don’t break. The disconnect is off the charts. They have become leaches on society. My eldest is going to graduate next year. My wife and I have been in tears talking about that, not cause our baby girl is all grown up, but because we have no idea how she’s going to be able to build a life. We barely got a condo before the market went parabolic. Our gen alpha kids currently have no hope of owning any home, the job opportunities don’t exist, and cars are triple the cost they were when I was 18. You need min 6 figures just to get a condo in this area. Houses require $180k+ but who even makes that? DINKs? Yet jobs she’ll have access to post $45k salaries like they are doing you a favor. She came to us one time asking how to find a job that pays enough to buy a house. We told her we didn’t know or we’d be doing it too. Boomers have leached off the fat of the land and left a dry husk for the rest of us. – Letsgobrandon

- I’m a millennial, I was late to buying a house, which I still haven’t done because the prices and interest are ridiculous, when my father bought our 3 bedroom rancher in a nice area on the coast it was 199k that house clof sold now would sell at 350k + and not including the interest. It’s absolutely ridiculous
