Synthetic lab created Folic Acid causes more harm than good & it’s risks outweigh any potential benefit. 45% of the world’s population cannot process or convert synthetic Folic Acid into Methyl Folate because of the MTHFR gene mutation. Synthetic Folic Acid builds & builds within the body, accumulating & mutating to cause grave harm. In addition to vitamin supplements, here in the US, we spray the chemical or synthetic form of folate, called folic acid, on basically all grains – wheat, corn, rice. We also ‘enrich’ foods containing grains with folic acid – things like bread, pasta, bagels, and cereal. It is also added to energy drinks, gatorade type drinks & vitamin water drinks. The problem here in lies, this excessive synthetic Folic Acid accumulates & is harmful. Your body can’t actually use folic acid. It’s not a real nutrient. They engineer it in a lab.

The only way your body is able to use this synthetic nutrient is by converting it into actual folate, which it does by using an enzyme called MTHFR. This makes it near impossible for a person to methylate folic acid & other B vitamins properly. Too much folic acid floating around & not enough methylated folate can snowball into a whole host of issues. An increase in unmetabolized Folic Acid leads to many issues including fetal loss & miscarriage. First, it can lead to an immune dysfunction by dysregulation of natural killer cells, leading to increased tumorigenesis. Increased folic acid has been linked to accelerations of leukemia, colorectal & prostate cancers.

Accumulated synthetic Folic Acid also causes B12 deficiency anemia, leading to a host of mental & cognitive issues. Folic Acid causes liver damage, neurological issues, immune system dysregulation & blood clotting issues. The answer is to remove ALL sources of synthetic Folic Acid from the diet. Eliminate inferior supplements containing Folic Acid. Remove all ‘fortified’ & ‘enriched’ grains & drinks. You can heal an actual Folate deficiency with high Folate foods, consuming beef liver & a Methylated Folate supplement. • Depending on whether the person is homozygous or heterozygous individuals can still convert folic acid, but not as effectively e.g. 20-40% conversion…it can conflict with natural folate, but methylfolate can bypass this cycle and inhibited ability of the MTHFR enzyme, as it’s the already converted / bioavailable form of vitamin b9.
