This might be the single best explanation of Trump’s tariff policies I’ve seen and it was from a former Democrat on Piers Morgan

- This is exactly what it is about. How can people argue for imbalances in Tariffs? Every dollar that leaves our borders is bad. As long as you gain some from other places, it washes out mostly, but trading at deficits for long periods and unfair deals, harms our nation.
- Batya Ungar Sargon nailed it, Trump’s tariffs aren’t just about trade; they’re about power. For decades, both parties let Wall Street and global elites rig the system, outsourcing jobs and gutting American manufacturing. Trump flipped the script, forcing foreign competitors to pay up while protecting American workers. The same people who scream about “income inequality” suddenly panic when Trump actually challenges the system that made the rich richer and the working class struggle. Funny how that works. Of course, tariffs are complex, but so is a broken economy. The question isn’t whether tariffs work (they do, when used right); it’s whether we keep letting foreign countries and Wall Street run the show. So, why do some people still defend the same failed policies that crushed the middle class? – Truth Hurts
- Congress was immediately ready to restrict Trump regarding tariffs, but they are still unable to come up with something to restrict rogue activist judges. Don’t look too closely, you might see what’s actually happening. – Steve Areno
- The same liberals that think the minimum wage should be $20 are now against tariffs because they want cheap goods (made on the backs of an international serf class and in some cases literal slaves) more than they want their neighbors to have good paying jobs. – Liquidity First

- I’m a big Trump supporter. Voted for him three times. I support his tariff policy but am also concerned about how our retirement account will be affected. We are middle class workers who’ve invested in the stock market for retirement for many years, so what happens on Wall Street affects my family’s future in a big way and many other hard working middle class families as well. Especially those of us who are not far off from retiring. Who knows what the future of social security will be in the next 5-8 years. Planning and saving for another means of income is important. Praying we don’t see what we have saved dwindle down to nothing because of Wall Street’s decision to “hurt Trump” because regular every day working class Americans will also be hurt in the process. – Doris
- Trump’s tariffs are the trigger for series of economic reactions. We will see onshoring to the US, negotiations, quid pro quo incentives for reductions, all new tools in an America first toolbox, where we have control, all due to tariffs, which are quick decisive actions than can be used to our benefit.
