- It took the Federal Government over a year after I retired for them to get me a retirement check thanks to the people at the Boyers, PA “mine” facility. I was promised a full retirement check in 60 days. A year later I had to raise hell with my Senator’s office as I was down to my last few hundred dollars and living in my truck because they were so incompetent. They owed me over $40k and also would not let me withdraw anything out of my retirement savings, leaving me with no income.
- Spending a billion on a survey is wild. I used to design software for a medium business that employed 600 people [I was the IT Director and lead programmer]. I made a multi-page survey distributed to all employees, complete with analytics and graphs in less than a day for my daily salary [about $275].

- The main downsides of having all these files on paper instead of digital, is that it takes forever to organize and find the specific files needed ; however; you don’t have to worry about them being stolen because its almost physically impossible to get your hands on them unless if your an employee. The issue with it being digitized is that a good hacker can get all of these files, unless, the system itself is running on its own infrastructure and not connected to whatever system everyone in the country is using.

- I worked for the US Forest Service for a few years as a contract wildland firefighter and the amount of fraud on these wildfire incidents was pretty bad. For example most people would lie on their time reports giving themselves way more time than they actually worked. Everyone from top to bottom was in on it and approved these reports. I saw thousands of dollars worth of supplies thrown away. On most of these incidents the fire would be out for weeks but they would lie and state that it was still active so they could keep getting money.

- So far, my ONLY complaint with DOGE is them wanting to close local Social Security offices. Not everyone has family, or any assistance to help them do that stuff online, or drive 3-4hrs to wherever. There are already plenty of fail-safe’s in place to cut down on identity theft and false applications. My local office has saved me a million times. The “big” office never seems to receive their mail that they make you send them with ALL of your info.,(even though they signed for it). So dropping stuff off locally, or being close for elderly and disabled people is great for every community
