• We did that!!! And not one movie theater was bombed or graffiti to do it. It just crashed under it’s own crappy weight. Nobody was threatened violence if they went to see it either! I’m using Tesla as an opposing example here.
• The fact that they KNEW it was a stinker and released it anyway is an indication of just how desperate the studio is to have SOME money coming in.
• The casting was all wrong! Absolutely nobody believes gal gadot as the witch would be jealous of Rachel Zegler’s beauty.
• This rejection is so much more than Zegler. She’s actually the least significant part of this saga. America has spoken Disney, you tried to coast like a D student for too long now get back to work!
• My friends 6 year old granddaughter, said that she did not enjoy it at all, said she should have opted for the the doll she was offered.
• Someone did an analysis of that $43M number and shows that it’s way over blown. They looked at the number of screens that the movie was shown on and the average ticket prices and calculate that each screen would have to have sold like 900 tickets per day (over all showings). There are dozens and dozens of people who work at various theaters who posted that they didn’t sell that many tickets for this movie all weekend, let alone each day. There are also hundreds of videos online showing the movie playing and then panning back to a completely empty theater. There are no vids of Disney shills showing they are in a crowded theater. This person calculated that the real number was probably closer to $18-20M. I bet Disney themselves bought a lot of tix at each day to bump up that number.
• I can’t believe they expected to make so much money!! 700 million?? They already knew half of the country wasn’t going to suffer through it… I don’t even wanna see the trailer…
• The reason why I think it’s doing bad compared to non Disney classics is BECAUSE it is a classic, but they changed the whole freaking story. It isn’t that classic that people loved anymore. Should have just created a whole new movie and called it something else. – Desiree
