- I remember in elementary school about the acid rain. It was going to destroy all the crops and make us all sick. Instead of us going out and playing in the rain, our parents would tell us to get out of the rain. In the 90s, we were depleting the ozone because of hairspray.

Once the fear mongering was widespread, then the governments step in and take action- more rules, laws, and yes, taxes. Select people became very rich.
