DISTURBING: The USDA has spent $1.5 BILLION on mass culling for “bird flu.”
If you’re wondering why your eggs are expensive, this is why.
But skyrocketing prices are just the least of our problems.

- The claim that the USDA has spent $1.5 billion on mass culling for bird flu aligns with recent data on the ongoing H5N1 outbreak. As of early 2025, the USDA has allocated significant funds—over $1.46 billion in indemnity payments and related costs—to poultry producers for culling flocks and controlling the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). This figure reflects payments for culled birds, eggs, and mitigation efforts since 2022, contributing to egg price spikes, with a dozen Grade A eggs averaging $4.15 in December 2024, up from $2.52 earlier that year. Epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher’s assertion, referencing a study by Garg et al., highlights a critical issue: all documented U.S. poultry-linked human H5N1 cases—20 as of October 2024—occurred during depopulation activities. Published in The New England Journal of Medicine in December 2024, the study notes these cases involved workers exposed to infected poultry during culling, with no evidence of human-to-human transmission. This suggests that mass culling, intended to curb the virus, may instead heighten human exposure risks due to suboptimal protective equipment use and close contact with infected birds.
- The USDA’s mass culling is a classic example of government overreach and incompetence. Not only are they driving up prices and destroying livelihoods, but they’re also making the problem worse by increasing the risk of bird flu transmission to humans. Peter Hotez told us this was coming though… are we surprised?
- Talk to farmers. Their chickens who survived a bird flu epidemic passed on immunity to their offspring. A mass extermination does not work Because it prevents the development of immunity. how do birds in the wild survive?
- I talked to someone that does all the egg ordering for a large grocery store. His suppliers have said exactly this, the high prices and low supply are a result of the mass culling.
- Meanwhile, eggs in Mexico are $2 for a dozen. Intelligent strain of flu that only affects chickens and American chickens at that.
Looks like the bird flu missed Mexico and is only impacting us here in America. What are the odds that the flu respects the border?
