Literally one of the messages of his performance was to show the divide in America and how everyone before us and even now are trying to help build America on our backs again, yet we’re so quick to turn our backs on each other. Kendrick was saying enough with the divide. If he could unite people at the Pop Concert, why not try at the Super Bowl, which he did. It wasn’t just about the performance it was also about the message. Simply put, united, we stand. Divided, we fall.

You know who the true oppressed people are at the Super Bowl? The metalheads. While Kirk Hammett has played the National Anthem at professional games, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Sabbath…no metal act has played the halftime show—despite all of them having songs played during the game. We literally had a metal act open the OLYMPICS before we had a metal halftime show.
