No, they can’t and that’s because DOGE is no different than government contractors being hired. DOGE has the same, or higher, security clearances as the government employees who, ironically, have the same exact access to your information and no one has ever questioned THAT! Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, often referred to as the Appropriations Clause or the Statement and Account Clause, states: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.” This clause is significant for two main reasons: Appropriations Requirement: It mandates that no funds can be withdrawn from the U.S. Treasury unless Congress has specifically approved such expenditure through an appropriations law.
This ensures that Congress, not the executive branch, controls federal spending, maintaining a key check on executive power. Transparency in Public Finance: The clause requires the government to regularly publish detailed accounts of all public money received and spent. This promotes transparency, accountability, and public oversight over federal financial management. This clause is crucial for upholding the separation of powers and ensuring that taxpayer money is managed responsibly and with legislative oversight. Congress has failed to do that, which is why President Trump reorganized and renamed the United States Digital Service. The United States Digital Service was renamed the United States DOGE Service (USDS) to do what Congress has failed to do: Publish detailed accounts of all public money received and spent to promote transparency, accountability, and public oversight over federal financial management. 1. As per the Constitution, the president has not only the right, but the obligation to not only perform an audit of the government, but to release said auditing to We the People as stated in the Constitution! 2. Musk and the DOGE team, which includes a Congressional Subcommittee and a list of federal workers in different departments, are no different than contracted forensic auditors. The federal government hires contractors in every department, at all securityclearancelevels.
They would also have top security clearances to do this work, which is higher than most who do the work, daily. This is nothing more than more political lawfare brought on by none other than Letitia James. The very same woman who ran on destroying Trump. Who, by the way, may have grossly overstated the value of her assets to secure loans for several commercial properties.
