@megynkelly asks a very insightful question about what does the future look like from a 30,000 foot view when even Maga is fractured on what the approach looks like? Marco Rubio explains that the purpose of foreign policy is to further the national objective of the United States of America. He explains that ever since the end of the Cold War this objective has been lost. Every foreign policy decision needs to be made from that perspective. And the way to deal with adversarial countries is through diplomacy, but from a place of strength. He makes it pretty clear that when it comes to our allies what’s in their best interest is also in ours because they are our allies. I think it’s a discussion it highlights his understanding of the problems and the fractures that are currently facing not just the Republican party but the future of American foreign policy.
